Co Q10 Benefit Of A Powerful Antioxidant.

Co Q10 or Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like substance made by the body and whose actions are similar to those of vitamin E also found in foods such as organ meats.

It's main function is to convert food to energy and alongside that it is also a powerful antioxidant probably more powerful than vitamin E.

It is fat-soluble and is stored in the fatty tissues of the body, reducing the need to ingest large quantities. Since Coenzyme Q10 is oil soluble it's best absorbed when taken with oily or fatty foods, such as fish.

It aids circulation, stimulates the immune system, increases tissue oxygenation, and has anti-aging effects. It has the ability to counter histamine, and therefore is beneficial for people with allergies, asthma, or respiratory disease.

Co Q10 is very beneficial to people with various types of heart failure. What it does is increases the energy output of hearts making them stronger. It does this naturally unlike drugs.

To treat heart failure a recommended daily dosage of 300mg to 400mg of Coenzyme Q10 is advisable although most people do not need this much.

Recent studies of Coenzyme Q10 indicate that it can help prevent the recurrence of breast cancer.

The sick and elderly may not be able to manufacture enough of Q10. The amount of coenzyme Q10 present in the body declines with age, so it should be supplemented in the diet, especially by people who are over the age of fifty.

Migraine sufferers have have found beneficial side effects taking Q10, It is also being investigated as a treatment for cancer, and as relief from cancer treatment side effects.

Aging is generally associated with decreases in tissue CoQ levels. For example, levels of CoQ10 in the skin are low in childhood, reaching a maximum at around 20-30 years of age, and then decrease steadily with increasing age.

Evidence is accumulating for a role of CoQ10 in the treatment of Parkinsons and Huntingdons disease and other neurodegenerative diseases.
